The End of Our Kumuka Adventure

Hi All,

Falling a little behind again. It has been pretty hectic over the last week, with us trying to find a job and stuff in London. Will fill you in on the details in a couple of posts time.

After we left Amsterdam, things were looking a little hazy for most of the bus. This city has a nasty knack of getting you to go hard! (not literally).

Back on the bus for our trip to Brugge. On the way we stopped off at a Clogs & Cheese shop, where they showed us how to make fresh cheese (after all this is where Edam & Gouda come from!). Then it was to see how clogs were made. This was a lot more interesting, and the bloke presenting was really funny!

Got into Brugge, Belgium in the afternoon. The hotel we stayed at was the best of our journey so far. A very nice place. It was part of the Hilton chain, although the budget part. But the rooms, pillows, showers and everything else was very nice.

Headed into town by bus and then by foot, to have a look around. What a magic place. Heaps of history, they have some canals there also. Just a beautiful city all round. Stocked up on our Belgium chocolate (very tasty!). A tip, get your chicky from the supermarket. It comes from the same gourmet places and costs 1/5 of the price! Picked up a magnet and some other stuff (we now have a magnet from every country that we have visited!), and stopped off at a bar to sample some of the legendary belgioum beer. Very tasty indeed!

Then it was off to the restaraunt for our final group dinner as this was our last nights together.
This was a nice place in the centre square. Fed up, drunk up and it wasx back to the hotel for a bar tab that needed to be drank! We found out later that the bar tab was put on by the fella that cleaned up in the casino in Amsterdam. Very nice of him.

So the tab lasted a few hours (obviously not Tyco employees present!), lots of laughs and some sad faces that this was the last night that we would be spending together. Finished about 1am. Gooodnight Kumukaites...

Next Day...
Back on the bus into Paris. Peak hour, crazy traffic and drivers! We said our goodbyes to everyone at the train station, and it was time for Nat and I to try and find our hotel with the dodgy map which was meant to be only about 500m away..... Check into the next post for our French adventure...
