Bank Holiday Weekend 26-28 August 06 (Part 1)

Hey all,

Last weekend was really great with Monday off. Although over here you don't get paid for it!
Sunny skies a plenty which was even better!

Cam had work most nights of the weekend at the pub, but this didn't stop us from getting out and about.

Friday was pretty quiet. One of our roommates found a dead mouse in the house, and she was freaking out! She thought that I was home and was banging on the door, but I wasnt' home. But fixed that one and now he is garden fertilizer. Nat decided to stay at Brooke's house so they could go shopping on Saturday.

Saturday
Off to work in the morning at the pub for Cam, feeling very flat, after being there until 3am the night before and back about 11:15am. Pubs here don't have the must have 12 hour break law... The Tri-Nations rugby and all the Kiwis and the Saffas were out in force to cheer on there team. Busiest afternoon I have seen in a while!

Finished at 10pm, but was swayed by 1 beer. Yeah right, 1 become about 5, and needless to say that Cam was in the doghouse that night!

Sunday
We woke up to a cloudy but clearing day. Nat's work had a family day at an Amusment park called Thorpe park. Na didn't see Thorpie, but there was plenty of water around! All expenses paid , except transport. It is only about 1 hour from London, but becuse we didn't get our connecting train, this took us over 3 1/2 hours to get there!

Anyway got in, had a drink in their private marquee and had a shoulder and head massage. Off for our first rollercoaster experience. Man what a beauty! It is called Collosses Infurno. It is one of those that your legs are dangling in mid-air. Very cool. Some of the best g-forces and stuff that we have ever experienced!

Back to the marquee for a gourmet bbq lunch. Very tasty, with the obligtory bangers, burgers, chicken kebabs and alike. Very tasty. A couple of drinks and it was time to walk off this feed for a couple more rollercoasters. They have many there, but there wasn't much time.

We only managed to fit in one more. There was over 1 1/2 wait to get on! But worth the wait, very cool indeed. We were a little limited for time as Cam was working at the pub again on Sunday night.

Sunday night at the pub was a big dance event called 'Mad Torque'. 3 stages, 11 dj's and lots of water! I was pretty busy. Cheeky buggers were charging 50p for Soda and tap water, but we got to keep this. It was a crazy nights, with plenty of clubbing freaks ther, some very cool lights and a great atmosphere. Cam was even asked to dance a few times whilst collecting the glasses. Of course this was only in the interest of more tips! But it was pretty exhasting and was feeling pretty dead by the end of the night (3am).

Coming soon, the Notting Hill Carnival...
