Germany Part 2 - Munich (Bring on the Beers..)

Hey all,

Hope your not too sad about the loss of the Dockers... Wish we could of been there to see the game. But the black forest awaits..

Well got into Munich after missing a connection by about 6 minutes about 5:3pm. Matt Smowton was already at Oktoberfest because we found out that he was only gonna be in town for 1 night and was leaving in the morning We had planned for the next day to be the big one... So it was a big rush to get back to the city after we checked in at our hotel, to drink some steins at the Oktoberfest!

The weather had been crap all day, so we met up and found a seat outside coz of the weather. But the rain had stopped and there was a heater nearby. So steins ahoy! Damn it was good to catch up. Met up with most of his crew, from his Contiki tour, which all appeared to be pissheads, so we were in good company. We met some really nice people drink a few steins together. Even Nat drank a stein!

Matt, Nat and I decided to go have a look around at another tent. Headed to the haufbrauhouse (sorry bad spelling), b it couldn't get a seat. So we went wondering around, but lost Matt. Met back at his bus, but on of the Contikians wouldn't let Nat and I on, so we said a brief CYA and back on the train. Hoped to meet up with Matt back at the hotel (we were staying at the same one), but he was too smashed and didn't answer his phone. Prolly coz he was shacked up with a girl that he met on tour! Can't remember her name now but!

Tuesday
Well after the night before feeling a little crap, time to head into town for a little retail therapy. It was bucketing down when we got to town. Cam got a haircut. (Finally) and we had Thai for dinner, not bad!

Headed back into the Oktoberfest, for a couple more before we said goodbye to Munich. Got some great photos, saw some really awesome atmosphere in some of the other tents that we visited. If you have ever thought about coming over, you should! We would love to get a crowd together for next years festivities! Time to say goodbye to the fest....

Wednesday
After a hearty breakfast, time to hit the road to Stuttgart, home of Mercedes Benz. A smooth ride into town, other than a loud yank (American) barking at us most of the way. Got in mid afternoon, parked our stuff at the hotel, which for a change was nicer than we expected.

Went back into town later on, went to dinner at an Australian restaurant called "Sydneys". Very tasty indeed! In case you were wondering what Australian cuisine was, it was mainly Australian native animals with veggies, but cooked up in some very interesting and tasty ways! Nat had a seafood basket, and Cam had turkey in a light coconut curry sauce. They were both very nice. We had some Pemberton white wine, which reminded us of how good our wine was at home... Well off for a good nights sleep on a decent bed!

Next post, Stuttgart (please buy me a Benz.)
